2007 GRAND NATIONAL TEAMS
DISTRICT FINAL INFORMATION
The 2007 Grand National Team District Final will be held on March 24 - March 25 2007 in Farmington MI at the Finnish American Cultural Center,. On Saturday, each flight will play down to two (2) finalists, with the format to be determined based on number of entries. On Sunday, each flight will play a 56-board knockout to determine the District representative for 2007. Saturday’s 1st session will begin at 1:00 p.m., with the second session TBA at the site. Sunday’s 1st session will begin at 11:00 a.m.
As in the past, there will be no lower-level qualifying required. Teams enter the District Final field, directly.
Teams may consist of four (4) to six (6) players. Each player must be a resident of District 12, and a member of the ACBL in good standing at all stages of the competition.
ACBL and District Conditions of Contest are available on the District 12 website. On the home page, select the link for GNT, and select the appropriate document.
In order to serve as District Representative at the Summer Nationals in Nashville at least three (3) members of each winning team must play at the National Final. There will be no supplementation or augmentation allowed for any team not meeting this condition; such a team will be disqualified, and the next team in line will serve as the District’s representative.
As last year, early registrants will pay a reduced registration fee. Entries received by the District Coordinator on or before Thursday, March 22, 2007 may pay a reduced registration fee of $88.00 per team. If mailing your entry, be sure to mail sufficiently in advance. Entries received after the deadline must include a registration fee of $100.00 per team (received after March 22 or received at the event). The entry for teams playing in Sunday’s final will be $100.00 per team.
On Sunday, there will also be a Consolation Swiss Teams event that will be open to new entries.
This year, all teams should pre-register for the event, using the Registration form available on the website. Teams that preregister pay a reduced entry fee of The District Coordinator must receive your form and entry fee no later than Thursday, March 2, 2005. Only one check per team, please.
