The 2006 Grand National Team District Final will be held on March 4 - March 5 2006 in Farmington MI at the Finnish American Cultural Center, 35200 W 8 Mile Rd, Farmington Hills MI 48334 (248-478-6939).
On Saturday, each flight will play down to two (2) finalists, with the format to be determined based on number of entries. On Sunday, each flight will play a 56-board knockout to determine the District representative for 2006. The first qualifying session on Saturday will begin at 1:00 p.m. Teams must check in no later than 12:45 p.m. The second qualifying session on Saturday will start at a time to be announced at the event. The starting time will depend on the size of the field.

As in the past, there will be no lower-level qualifying required. Teams enter the District Final field, directly.
Teams may consist of four (4) to six (6) players. Each player must be a resident of District 12, and a member of the ACBL in good standing.
In addition, District COC will change for 2006 to require that at least three (3) members of each winning team must play at the National Final at the Summer Nationals in Chicago. There will be no supplementation or augmentation allowed for any team not meeting this condition; such a team will be disqualified, and the next team in line will serve as the District’s representative.
On Sunday, there will also be a Consolation Swiss Teams event that will be open to new entries.
This year, all teams should pre-register for the event, using the Registration form available on the website. Teams that preregister pay a reduced entry fee of The District Coordinator must receive your form and entry fee no later than Thursday, March 2, 2005. Only one check per team, please.
